Announcement
It's hard to believe 2011 is already at an end, but as we gear up for 2012, we are happy to announce an exciting restructuring for the United Film Festivals that will continue our effort to provide more opportunities for filmmakers and grow deeper roots in each community.

The New York and London United Film Festivals have been rescheduled and will take place in May 2012 shortly after our Los Angeles United Film Festival. Our San Francisco, Chicago, and Tulsa United Film Festivals will take place in September and October 2012.

This is a permanent change for future United Film Festival seasons. All 2011 New York and London submitters are in consideration for these festivals along with all applicable United packages. Additionally, deadlines for our 2012 season have not changed, and the official festival dates and new notification dates will be updated by the beginning of the new year.

We are looking forward to a great 2012 and thank everyone for their continued support!

We're so excited to be coming back for our fourth year in New York with this excellent lineup of features, documentaries, and shorts.

Opening our festival is the quirky love story, Colin Hearts Kay, in which a Brooklyn cartoonist tries desperately to win back his girlfriend by dragging her into the illustrated world of his cartoons, followed by The Minutemen, which takes a look inside the world of men who take it upon themselves to control the border.

The documentary Seeking Happily Ever After asks if women can live their lives happily after all without finding their Prince Charming to marry. In Gabi on the Roof in July, a young woman moves to New York to live with her older brother for the summer, only to find she's in over her head when she gets involved with his roommate.

Monday’s screenings take us “Behind the Scenes” with and Cleanflix, a chronicling of the battle between Hollywood filmmakers and video stores in Utah who elected to “sanitize” their films without permission, and Official Rejection which documents the pitfalls and triumphs of a group of filmmakers on the film festival circuit.

Our closing night features Eat the Sun, an intriguing journey into the mysterious world of sungazing. We are also pleased to present Midnight screenings of the classic films Ghostbusters and Escape from New York.

Other films in our lineup include A Long Haul, The Prospects, I Do, I Don't, The Elephant in the Living Room, Facing the Fat, Special When Lit, Jeffie Was Here,The Rock’n’Roll Dreams of Duncan Christopher, and Biker Fox. This is sure to be a New York United Film Festival you can't miss!

JUST ANNOUNCED: We're so excited to announce two very special screenings on our Awards Night, Thursday, October 28th. Immediately following our Awards Presentation at 7:00 pm we will present The Shark is Still Working: The Impact and Legacy of JAWS, an insightful look at Speilberg's 1975 classic, which sold out at last year's New York United. We will be closing the festival with the classic Saturday Night Fever, for just $5, so don't miss our amazing Awards Night!
