This year we’re kicking the festival off with The Rock-afire Explosion, a documentary about a small-town disc jockey, a struggling inventor, and an animatronic rock band. Opening night brings us two exciting films. Like Dandelion Dust, based on the best-selling novel by Karen Kingsbury, follows what happens when a couple’s idyllic life is shattered when their adopted son’s biological parents find a loophole in the adoption papers. Starring Mira Sorvino, Barry Pepper, and Cole Hauser. Also Premiering on opening night, The Shark is Still Working is a captivating documentary about one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters of all time, Jaws. To gear up for the documentary, come out to our special screening of Jaws and see Steven Spielberg's classic on the big screen. Finally, our very exciting closing film is Complacent, a narrative drama about two close sisters who are shaken to the core by a tragedy which questions the way that they live their lives. Starring Kerri Green, Cerina Vincent, Elisa Donovan, and Joey Kern. Other films in our lineup include How I Got Lost, Sordid Things, Ingredients, 90 Minutes: The World Cup of New York, Stages, Rhyme and Punishment, Strictly Background, Branson, and Etienne!.


Chicago United Film Festival

Our kickoff film, Like Dandelion Dust, follows what happens when a couple’s idyllic life is shattered when their adopted son’s biological parents find a loophole in the adoption papers. Based on the best-selling novel by Karen Kingsbury, starring Mira Sorvino, Barry Pepper, and Cole Hauser, Like Dandelion Dust won the Grand Jury Prize at the Las Vegas International Film Festival.


Also premiering is The Shark is Still Working, a captivating documentary about one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters of all time, Jaws. To gear up for the documentary, come out to our special screening of Jaws and see Steven Spielberg's classic on the big screen. Finally, our very exciting closing film is All’s Faire in Love, a light-hearted romp about two rival Medieval shows vying for supremacy in the world of Renaissance Faires. Starring Christina Ricci, Ann-Margaret, Owen Benjamin, Matthew Lillard, and Cedric the Entertainer. Other films in our lineup are Rock-afire Explosion, Fowl Play: The Untold Story of the Incredible Edible Egg, The Providence Effect, I Am Hip Hop: The Chicago Hip Hop Documentary, Bleacher Boys, The Lost Coast, Monsters From the Id, Complacent, Facing the Fat, Last Cup: The Road to the World Series of Beer Pong and Etienne!, a unique road trip story about a young man and his terminally ill hamster.


Tulsa United Film Festival

Tulsa United is proud to present an amazing list of Feature-Length Narratives and Documentaries. Nearly all films will be Tulsa Premieres or Special Engagement Screenings and will be preceded by a selection of Award-Winning Short Films.

Our opening night films include The Legend of Billy Fail filmed in and around the Tulsa area.

Rock-afire Explosion is a documentary about a small town disc-jockey, a struggling inventor, and an animatronic rock band, that quickly becomes an eccentric portrait of childhood memories, broken dreams, and the resilience of the human spirit. This unique and touching Tulsa premiere will close the festival on August 2nd.


San Francisco United Film Festival

Our kickoff film Alcatraz Reunion follows filmmaker John Paget in his search for the few known surviving ex-prisoners of Alcatraz, once America's most dangerous public enemies, who have been invited back to the Rock for a Reunion – This is the riveting Alcatraz story unlike any you’ve heard before!

 

Also premiering is The Shark is Still Working, a captivating documentary about one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters of all time, Jaws. Other films in our lineup are The Perfect Cappuccino, Fagbug, One Day in Africa, New Brow: Contemporary Underground Art, Airplay, Blue Gold: World Water Wars, Bicycle Dreams, The Rock-afire Explosion, Callback: The Unmaking of Bloodstain and Etienne!, a unique road trip story about a young man and his terminally ill hamster. This touching San Francisco premiere will close the festival on June 18th.


Los Angeles United Film Festival

We recently wrapped the Los Angeles United Film Festival to great reviews, sold out audiences, and celebrity guest appearances. CBS calls it, "A one-of-a-kind smorgasbord for film aficionados of every stripe. The documentaries here are particularly good." We look forward to The United Film Festival's next city, San Francisco.

 

See Steven Spielberg's classic "Jaws" on the big screen at the Los Angeles United Film Festival and witness how movie making was forever changed. It'll prepare you for "The Shark is Still Working" uncovering the impact and legacy of Jaws. Movie introduction by special guests. Tickets for Thursday, April 30th's showing are on sale for $5. The Los Angeles United Film Festival is excited to announce that both the 9:45pm World Premiere and Midnight Encore screenings of "The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact and Legacy of Jaws" are SOLD OUT. Purchase tickets for the newly added Sunday morning, 10:00am Encore screening. In attendance for the Saturday screenings will be the Jaws Screenwriter, Carl Gottlieb and Production Designer, Joe Alves. Plus Legendary Makeup Effects Artist, Gregory Nicotero will be bringing a Jaws shark head.


Jim Ladd, longtime American disc jockey, will be in attendance for the Saturday 7:00pm screening of "Airplay: The Rise and Fall of Rock Radio" with appearances by musicians David Crosby, and Grace Slick with radio personality Casey Kasem among others. Saving God star Dean McDermott and his reality show (Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood) film crew will be in attendance for Sunday's 1:00pm screening.
