2011 Chicago United Film Festival

We're so excited to be returning to the Music Box Theatre for our third annual Chicago United Film Festival! The festival kicks off with Superheroes, a documentary which follows real-life caped crusaders attempting to bring justice to evildoers all over America. Our line up also includes White Irish Drinkers, the story of two brothers in 1975 Brooklyn looking for a way out of their working-class neighborhood make a pact to rob a local theater on the night of a Rolling Stones concert.Then we continue the tradition of great Chicago premieres with films like Holy Rollers: The True Story of Card Counting Christians, which follows the rise of arguably the largest and most well-funded blackjack team in America-made up entirely of churchgoing Christians, and Cleanflix which explores the controversial companies in Utah who sanitize Hollywood films for Mormon audiences.

We are also proud to showcase some Chicago classics with Midnight screenings of The Blues Brothers and Child’s Play, as well as our closing night tribute to John Hughes with special presentations of Sixteen Candles and Weird Science.
